How to use a fruit and vegetable dryer

During the harvest period, the dryer helps the housewives very much. Especially such an aggregate is in demand when apples or other fruits ripen. If there are enough workpieces made, the remaining fruit can be dried and used during the year.

The device and principle of operation of the dryer for fruits and vegetables

The dryer consists of a motor unit, pallets and a lid. Bottom comes hot steam, which is evenly distributed over the baskets, drying the sliced pieces. The control button is located at the bottom of the device. There are models with manual temperature and device settings, where only the power button is present. In this case, the steam has a certain temperature set by the manufacturer. Thanks to automatic temperature control and ventilation, the products do not burn. Drying takes place without baking or cooking.

REFERENCE! The process allows you to save all the nutrients and vitamins contained in the products.

How to use a dryer

A device for drying fruits and vegetables is simple. It is enough to include it in food and the process will go by itself. Some models have built-in auto shut off. For example, after 72 hours of continuous operation, the device turns off by itself.

Terms of use are divided into three blocks:

  • training;
  • drying;
  • cleaning and storage of the device.

The quality of drying and the durability of the device depend on the proper use of the device. The operating rules for almost all models are the same.

Preparation for drying

At first use, the device must be checked and tested. This procedure is carried out so that the products do not draw in foreign odors that may remain after the manufacture of the device. Before drying, carry out the following steps:

  • Take the device out of the box, rinse the pallets. Remove all stickers.
  • Put baskets on top of each other. Properly spaced pallets do not have through slots. All of them are tightly pressed together.
  • Connect to the network and turn on the empty dryer for half an hour by pressing the "ON / OFF" button.
  • Turn off the appliance and allow to cool. After work, there is hot steam inside, which can damage the skin of hands and face.
  • Disassemble and rinse the pallets.

After the manipulations, you can proceed to slicing and unfolding fruits and vegetables on pallets. Spread the same or different products at once together. However, it should be remembered that fruits and vegetables absorb neighboring odors.

Drying

Pre-sliced fruits are laid out on pallets. Pieces should not be too thick - this can cause them to dry for a long time. It is also not allowed to chop products too finely - they will fall down through the basket.

The appliance must be placed on a flat, solid surface. After the motor block is installed, the following steps should be performed:

  1. Fit elements tightly on the lower control unit.
  2. Put the lid on top.
  3. Turn on the appliance and leave to dry. During operation of the device, the cover must not be removed.
  4. After completion of work, when the products are dry (after about 15 hours), the device should be turned off with the “On / Off” button. From time to time it is necessary to watch the quality of drying so that vegetables and fruits do not dry out. If necessary, pallets can be interchanged.

ATTENTION! It is impossible to remove products immediately after disconnection. There is hot steam inside!

Cleaning and storing the appliance

After drying, the device must be washed. Use soapy water for this. If pieces of food stick to the walls, the pallets should be presoaked in soapy water. The elements of the device are washed by hand, avoiding the use of a dishwasher, since substances in the powder and rinse aid can be absorbed into the pan. At the next drying, they are absorbed into the products.

After washing, wipe all the elements dry and leave to dry completely. It is necessary to store the device in a box at room temperature in assembled form.

The dryer is a convenient device that allows you to quickly process excess products. Dried fruits and vegetables take up much less space in the freezer or refrigerator. Beneficial substances are stored better than in various blanks.
