How to check the connection

The first step to finding out if your PC’s processor is working is to see what happens immediately after it is turned on. This is due to the fact that many motherboards emit different sound signals to indicate problems. Another way is to connect the processor to a test computer that has working equipment and is compatible with the microprocessor that needs to be tested. You should work with the internal equipment of your PC only if you have enough experience in repairing your computer to avoid further damage.

  1. Unplug the power cord from both computers (also remove the battery on the laptop). Remove the radiator and microprocessor from the computer, which, as you suspect, has a faulty electronic unit; also remove the microprocessor and heatsink from the test computer if you have not already done so.
  2. Connect the microprocessor and heatsink to a second test computer that uses the same type of processor. Plug in the power cord.
  3. Turn on the computer. If the PC does not boot into the BIOS or produces the same sequence of sound signals, it is likely that the processor is not working.
