The recent release of the games Fortnite and PUBG are not subject to the use of wireless joysticks, but they would have come to the place. Running, shooting and aiming, and simply controlling the game is most convenient with a gamepad, and using only regular digging on the screen is completely inconvenient. Therefore, there is an affordable alternative to wireless joysticks - to create a gamepad yourself without using sophisticated tools and techniques.
Thanks to the self-made joystick, it will probably involve 4 fingers at once, as a result, the quality of the game and the pleasure from it will increase at times.
What you need to make a joystick for your phone
To create a gamepad with your own hands for a mobile phone you will need fairly simple and accessible materials:
- cardboard,
- pencil,
- scissors,
- control chip,
- two buttons
- portable fan
- wire and glue.
Joystick assembly process
- First of all we draw on the cardboard a joystick, or rather, its shape.
- After we begin to cut exactly on the painted office. When the form is ready, you can proceed to the next step.
- To cut out the gamepad, you need to attach a control chip, a battery and an on / off key and, of course, a fan.
- The peculiarity of such a joystick is low cost, and therefore accessibility. When the form of the future gamepad is almost ready, you need to cut a small “window” in one of the edges of the form, to install the fan, you will need it to cool the mobile phone during the game.
- To the base of the fan on both sides using a special hot-melt adhesive, you must install two small pieces of metal wire. When the wire is securely fixed, exactly in the middle of the fan it is necessary to secure the gum.
- At the end of the work, on both sides of the joystick, you need to glue two plywoods, for which the fan gum will be attached, and after that you can install the battery in the place prepared for it, the microcircuit and the buttons for turning it on and off.
Device testing
Immediately, as soon as the device made for the phone is completely ready and the glue dries well, you can begin to use it for its intended purpose. For the first test, it must be connected to a smartphone. After you need to go to the column "control" or "control panel", click on the label "device" or "gaming device" and select the type of gamepad. Indicate that he has two buttons and four different levels of freedom. After that configure. And the result of the homemade gamepad will be noticeable instantly!
IMPORTANT! If you see an arrow or a cross in the game moving around the screen, and the blue stripes “creep” smoothly, then this means that your homemade gamepad works to its fullest!
It should be noted that under Linux this joystick also works, and the method of its configuration is completely similar to the one described above. By the way, in any other simulators, the buttons are not required, but without them, you cannot configure the gamepad, so you need to install at least one key.
